Newborn babies at risk as mothers suffer in horrendous conditions, the lives of hundreds of newborn babies and their mothers are at risk, where the dias forces pregnant women to give birth in terrible conditions.

CHAEF has estimated that at least thousands of pregnant women are now living in crowded, unhygienic conditions in all over Pakistan where clean water is limited and women struggle to find enough to clean themselves and their newborn babies during and after birth, leaving them at increased risk of dangerous infection.

Support for pregnant women and newborn-babies is dangerously low with no midwives on hand to assist getting themselves delivered in most unhygienic atmosphere with untrained Diaes who normally at the last stage asked husband to take pregnant women to Hospital as they can not do the delivery normally and during this discussion either mother or unborn child dies.

The dias struggle with high pain women and a lack of medical equipment such as gloves and scissors. There are no ambulances available and no emergency equipment to use if something goes wrong with the birth.

At this stage the full fledge Mother & Child Healthcare sponsored by Mr. Shaukat Tarin, (SI) Former Finance Minister & Senior Banker has started showing its ‘Miracles’ as we know that if we don’t scale up and help these women immediately, many mothers and babies could die.

Lack of food is also endangering the lives of new mother and babies. Many pregnant women are not having food to eat enough to ensure that they will be able to feed their child, leaving the babies highly vulnerable to diseases such as infections and diarrhea disease.

At this terrible stage CHAEF is providing all these service absolutely FREE of Charge to all poorest pregnant women with pre and post antenatal services.
